Chapter 28: THE END

Finallyyy!!! I can't believe I finished. After I completed Chapter 27 this afternoon, I had a sudden surge of inspiration knowing there was only one chapter left and was able to finish it in a fairly short amount of time! I'm so happy! Even though there is still a lot of work I want to do on it, and a lot of editing that needs to happen, it is such a relief to finish the draft!!

So... this is where you all come in! I would love, now that you have read the full story, if you could offer suggestions/ideas, etc. This novel is far from finished so anything you think could be changed... scenes added or removed, character development, maybe the clearing up of something you are confused about. Character development is definitely something I want to work on so advice there would be greatly appreciated.

Finally, thank you so much to those of you who have stuck through to the end... your comments have been so helpful, and just knowing that you were reading it motivated me to keep writing. You are amazing! :)

I'm so close to finishing! I think I only have one chapter to go... unless I end up breaking it into two. I'll have to see. But the story is finish winding to a close.

Chapter 23, Part 2

My piano audition was last Friday so I am back to writing regularly again. :) I'm so relieved that it is past; I have been preparing for it for a long time, and more intensely these past few weeks.

Last Monday, I posted the first part of Chapter 23, and today I added the remainder of the chapter onto the document. I have done a little bit of adjusting to the beginning of the chapter, but not too much. So you can either read from the beginning of the chapter, or jump ahead to the new part, which begins near the top of page four.

I have been very busy lately and have not had time to finish this chapter. But I didn't want to leave you all hanging for too long. :P So, I am posting Part 1 today. I will try to post the rest of the chapter before next Monday, but I'm not sure I'll be able to finish it. I have a piano audition this Friday that I am preparing for, which is why I haven't been writing as much.

This chapter was kind of a complicated one and I hesitated sharing it because I feel like it's very incomplete. There is a lot happening and I'm thinking about eventually lengthening it and breaking it into two chapters.... but I'm not sure yet. Let me know what you think!

Chapter 20

Yay... I got up to the 20s in chapter numbers! :D It seems like I should be further along just because I have been working on this novel for so long. I have started and re-started so many times... but knowing you all were reading pushed me to keep writing, so thanks for your helpful comments over the past few months! Finishing the first draft will be a big step, then I'll basically be taking the whole thing apart and putting it back together during the editing process... and I have been saving your comments to help me out with that process. I once saw a quote that said "writing is re-writing". The first draft is just the foundation, a shadow of the finished product. So if you are a writer and are unsatisfied with your results, don't get discouraged because it won't be perfect the first time. Just keep editing and adjusting and don't give up on it. :)

Hello! I hope you all are doing well. :) We are getting a lot of snow right now... it looks really pretty and it is actually one of the first snowfalls this year!

Thanks to those of you who are keeping up with my chapters, and giving comments! I am getting close to finishing the draft. I predict there will be around thirty chapters, but I haven't gotten to the end yet, so we'll see.
